History of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Computing in Mostar dates back to 1959,
founded by the Higher Technical School of Mechanical Engineering. The initial idea for the founding of the school
are related to the desire to provide training for mechanical engineering engineers in Mostar and Herzegovina,
to establish the core of scientific thought and to enable the transfer of new knowledge to businessmen and
entrepeneurs in this extremely important geographical and economic space.
1976.
Independent university institution
Guided by these ideas, the school experienced various transformations until
they became an independent higher education institution in 1976 within the University of Mostar.
2002.
Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Computing
Aware of the fact that the education system is on the one hand closely
connected to technological development, and on the other hand linked with the social changes that are inevitably
happening in the world, in the academic year 2002/2003. the faculty has turned a new page of his history.
A studies of Computing were started with an existing Mechanical Engineering course, which also led to the
change of the faculty name to the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Computing, University of Mostar.
2017.
Electrical Engineering studies
In year 2017., a studies of Electrical Engineering have been opened, one of the
largest projects that we have prepared at the faculty. The idea has been present since 2001,
and today it has become a reality. A laboratory for the electrical engineering course was opened,
with the attendance of the numerous participants from the academic community, politics, economy,
and colleagues from related technical faculties.

Alumni
Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Computing, University of Mostar, founded the
Association of former students named ALUMNI FSR. At the Founding Assembly, held on
December 15, 2014, members of the Presidency are appointed, the Secretary, the Board of
Directors and Supervisory Board of the Association.
This is a voluntary
association that joins all those who have graduated, master or doctorate studies at the
Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Computing. The purpose of this association is to
connect all generations of graduated students in order to maintain relationships and to
achieve lasting and mutual benefit and cooperation.
Among the basic objectives of ALUMNI FSR existence is the development of cooperation
between the Faculty and enterprises, organizations and institutions where former students work,
along with the participation in international scientific, research and professional exchange and
cooperation, and establishing contacts with other ALUMINUM associations in the country and abroad.
